Aurora International Taste Challenge 2021
Charcuterie, Sausage, Dried and Other Meat Awards
We are excited to announce that entries for the third Aurora International Taste Challenge are now officially open and Charcuterie, sausages, dried and other meat will be judged in South Africa.
Why should producers enter The Aurora International Taste Challenge?
Superior products will be granted gold and double gold awards to reward products with excellent taste. Producers will be able to display these awards on their product, in digital media and in printed format, depending on the terms of a non-exclusive license agreement. Winners will receive a full digital award artwork kit containing many iterations of the logo, and they can buy stickers.
Meat products will be judged in sub categories according to the following main criteria:
• Salami – any shape or size
• Chorizo
• Ham
• Dry-cured meats (coppa, pancetta, prosciutto etc.)
• Jerky or biltong
• Droë wors
• Bacon
• Cooked/cured meat (pastrami, roast beef, corned beef etc.)
• Cooked/smoked ready to eat sausages (Viennas, Russians, bratwurst etc.)
• Uncooked Sausages (Boerewors, Andouille, beerwurst etc.)
• Patés, terrines and Rillettes
• Liverwürst
• Patties/Burgers
• Kebabs/Sosaties/Skewers
